First film you ever saw?
I think it was The Wolves of Willoughby Chase. I remember watching it one Christmas and being utterly terrified, but thinking it was wonderful.
Cinematic Hero
Andrew Bujalski for making me feel like I could make a film tomorrow, Geoffrey Rush for being Geoffrey Rush and Woody Allen for letting me get away with these ridiculous glasses.
Favourite film
I can't pick one, but these three are up there, Bicycle Thieves, Funny Ha Ha, Heima
Worst film you've seen?
I used to go the cinema every week with a friend, we took it in turn to pick the film of choice. This one particular week, she chose Mama Mia. I point blank refused, then for some bizarre reason caved in. We have never been to the cinema together since, but at least I didn't pay.
Guilty Pleasure
Mighty Ducks
What do we do?
Press Play devise and produce cinematic events that are accessible, independent and above all, a lark.
Why are you doing this?
Press Play is about putting on events and experiences that make you want to get involved, don an outfit, watch really good films in really good venues and spaces. It's about having fun, showing new stuff, old stuff, great stuff. What's not to like.
What do you when you're not doing this?
When I'm not doing this, I'm looking after my son, crafting, restoring furniture, selling my life on ebay and looking for new adventures. I have worked for various cultural venues in the region including Tyneside Cinema and Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums, as well as working on projects for Northern Lights Film Festival, BBC Merseyside, Voluntary Arts England.
